The Bimose Tribal Council Annual General Meeting (AGM) was recently held in Wabaseemoong Independent Nations, bringing together our leadership, staff, and community representatives for two days of reflection, discussion, and connection.
Our Council of Chiefs and Board of Directors attended to review progress, recognize achievements, and discuss future initiatives. The gathering highlighted the growth of our programs and entities, along with the continued collaboration that supports our member communities.
During the AGM, reflections focused on important developments from our second quarter of the fiscal year. Achievements across our organization were celebrated, and key updates and discussions were presented to our Board of Directors and Council of Chiefs. Areas of focus included Bimose Core, Technical Services, Bimose HUB, Anishinaabe Student Achievement, the Education Partnership Program, Jordan’s Principle Regional Hub, Kiizhik Education, and the Gaagagegiizhigook Child Care Centre. These discussions help ensure that our programs and services continue to meet the needs of our 10 Member First Nation communities.
Appreciation is extended to Wabaseemoong Independent Nations for hosting the event and providing the Wabaseemoong Child Welfare Authority building as the venue.
Acknowledgment is also given to Elder Ron McDonald, and to the drummers and singers who opened the meeting with songs carried by Waabshke Maakinakoose, a drum provided by the Wabaseemoong community.
