Registration Open for 2nd Annual Anishinaabemodaa Conference!

Bimose Tribal Council is excited to announce our 2nd Annual Anishinaabemodaa Conference. Taking place on February 10 & 11, 2024, in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the Delta Hotel. This event is open to Youth, Elders, Education Directors/ Portfolio holders, Language Teachers and Language Enthusiasts.

Registration Deadline: January 15, 2024
Register early, as space is limited!

Registration fee: $150 (or FREE for Bimose member Communities)
Registration Fee can be paid by cash or cheque to Bimose Tribal Council.

Bimose Member Communities include:

  • Asubpeeschoseewagong Netum Anishinabek (Grassy Narrows First Nation)
  • Eagle Lake First Nation
  • Iskatewizaagegan #39 Independent First Nation
  • Lac des Mille Lacs First Nation
  • Washagamis Bay First Nation
  • Niisaachewan Anishinaabe Nation
  • Shoal Lake #40 First Nation
  • Wabaseemoong Independent Nations
  • Wabauskang First Nation
  • Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation

Bimose will be covering the cost of mileage, meals and accommodations for 2 youth (age 25 & under), 2 Language Speakers, an Education Director and a Language teacher from each of the member communities.
**All others are responsible for making their own arrangements.**

Bimose Tribal Council will not be providing chaperones for this event, and will not be responsible for the supervision of any youth.

Bring a Youth Contest

In an effort to promote Anishinaabemowin transmission for generations to come and to encourage more youth to attend the 2nd Annual Anishinaabemodaa Conference, Bimose Tribal Council is offering an all-expenses-paid conference for you and one youth (age 14-20) to attend.

Prize:

Two all-expenses-paid conference passes for 1 Adult (18+) and 1 Youth (age 14 - 20). Package valued at over $1,800 + km.

A total of four (4) groups of two (2) will be awarded. Youth must be accompanied by an adult 18+. In order to have the two all-expenses-paid conference passes the Youth must be in attendance at the conference for both days. Contest closes 12:00 pm CST January 16, 2024.

*All-Expenses- Paid includes: 1 Adult Conference Pass, 1 Youth Conference Pass, paid travel up to 600km each way (limited to 1 vehicle), hotel parking (1 vehicle), 3-night stay at Delta Hotels by Marriott Winnipeg in 1 room two beds, Breakfast and Lunch during the conference days, cheque for meals outside of conference time (includes 3 dinners, 3 days of incidentals, and 1 breakfast, per person), and 2 swag bags.
Additional travel, activities outside of the conference, and any room service is at the expense on the attendee(s).
