He played a crucial role in the establishment and growth of Gaagagekiizhik School, advocating for an education system that respects Anishinaabe traditions. Jim dedicated his life to the preservation of Anishinaabemowin. In his commitment, he focused on generating resources, securing funding, and establishing environments for teaching and learning Anishinaabemowin.
