Bimose Tribal Council Expresses Their Condolences: Jim Green

March 5, 2024

The Bimose Tribal Council Board of Directors and Staff express their deepest sympathies to Jim Green's wife, Pat, and his daughters, Jan, Marion, and Heather. Our thoughts also go out to his extended families and friends.

Jim devoted three decades of his life to Bimose Tribal Council, leaving behind moccasins that we are unable to fill. He played a crucial role in the establishment and growth of Gaagagekiizhik School, advocating for an education system that respects Anishinaabe traditions. Jim dedicated his life to the preservation of Anishinaabemowin. In his commitment, he focused on generating resources, securing funding, and establishing environments for teaching and learning Anishinaabemowin.

Those who had the privilege of working alongside Jim will always treasure his memory. We are committed to honouring his legacy by promoting educational models that are rooted in Anishinaabe traditions and language.
